Hello there! Thanks for your interest in assisting the wikia.
In truth, a lot of the wikia has been evaluated, reevaluated, updated, modified, and reconstructed in numerous ways. Because of this, the wikia doesn't require too much work to get it where it needs to be. It's mostly a checks/balances act.
A lot of recent edits have been circulating around tweaking values and wording in various articles. This is absolutely one of the best ways you could assist to ensure articles are written legibly with accurate information.
All in all, ANY assistance is appreciated. Glad to have you here, and let me know if you have further questions!
hello, i stumbled across this wiki searching for information about some events of the game that I couldn't figure out by myself (the steps to getting the slug ship got me a bit confused x) ). The time that I spend on FTL is started to increase and so does my love for it ^^ so I wanted to participate in the wiki, maybe by translating it, as I am a native French speaker... But i have to admit I'm a bit lost on how to do this? Any help?
You can go to a URL like: translate.google.co.il/translate?tl=LANG&u=URL , while LANG is the short name for the language (e.g. fr for French), and URL is the URL of the page that you want to translate.
Note that the best way to translate a page is to ask a person to translate, that:
Knows the language that you want to translate from and translate to (I only speak English).
Is familiar with the topic of your wiki very well, and knows well most of the terms of the wiki's topic.
This is to make sure that the translation that you get is reliable and makes sence, something that Google Translate and similar translators cannot do.
Oh, I think I wasn't clear enough, I didn't want a translated version, I speak English maybe not fluently but at least enough to read it ^^ What I wanted to do was contribute by adding the french translation to the wiki (I observed you already had the Russian and German ones)
The Mod page is used to reference the various FTL mods themselves; if you'd like to update this page with specific mods available, you're free to do so by referencing them and linking accordingly. Unfortunately, it is against the wikia guidelines to create individual pages for the various mods because they are not a part of the game, but rather an extension.
I checked out the Mod page and it looks like it could use some editing love, so if you want to spend some time scrubbing the walls in there, go crazy! I'll try to help clean this page up in due time as well.
Clearly, this side of the wikia needs some work done to it.
I like your idea with the three paragraphs; if you'd like to get started and clean the place up a bit, go for it! I'll check in occassionally and ensure we don't lose any valuable data (but frankly, there isn't a lot on the page at the moment).
Thanks for your assistance in making the wikia an informative experience!
As it is the wikia to the game, the preferred method is to include images/details from the game itself, not fan-made material. And while the Kestrel Adventures Animated Series is done pretty well, it is entirely fan made.
But you can certainly post their images in the comments below!
You have done a remarkable job with the Ship Comparison Chart. It is by far one of the most compact and easy-to-navigate ship comparison gadgets I have seen yet (and trust me, I have seen quite many). I have memorized essentially everything about each ship on my own, but really wish that I had seen this earlier; it would have made it much more straightforward!
