Zrt22, thank you so much for your assistance in helping me tidy up the Enemy Ships page. I'm sure it's been annoying that I haven't been able to spend as much time as I'd like on it and I have kept leaving it in a state of unfinishedness, so I cannot express my graditude for moving it forward.
My next goal for the page is interiors of all the different ships. Whew. I'll be adding them slowly over time.
Again, thank you for your contributions to the wikia. Seriously awesome stuff!
You're welcome! I figured I could help updating the remaining ships since you've most likely been busy lately and the process was pretty much straightforward. Let me know if you need help for anything, always glad to contribute to the wikia.
Do you have something specific in mind for the pictures of the ships ? The current ones are a bit all over the place.
Oh, what's different with the Slug ships ? Didn't know about that.
The Flagship images are already updated on its own page with all the useful infos on it as far as I know.
I like the way the Crystal ships are done right now although most of what's visible is variable. That's a bit misleading.
Back when I was thinking about this page, I was more interested in showing only what's static and can't be described on the page, i.e. the room layout and the position of the systems. Tested that with 2 ships but they ended up quite empty I guess:
Anyway, I'd like to see the images updated because they're not that good quality-wise too :p
The Slug Ship on Easy difficulty doesn't have a door to enter the Oxygen or Engine Systems, so you can destroy them with weapons. Super easy to wait until the crew is aphixiated, or at least make the ship have zero evasion.
The Pirated ship is decently encountered on Easy in the first two Sectors. Normal and Hard change the layout a little so all rooms are accessible via doors, like every single ship out there (minus Flagship).
Anywho, I really do enjoy the vacant ships to show full ship layouts including Optional Systems. I think these fit for the wikia as reference images.
Does it take time to make a ship layout like these?
Looking through the datafiles right now and it doesn't seem to be tied to difficulty. The doors are simply missing on the "jelly_button" layout definition used by the Slug Interceptor / Scout. Their pirate counterparts don't have this issue. Is it hardcoded ? Pretty sure I found all of them on Normal too.
The way I did these layouts was a bit messy. I took the clean hull sprite from the datafiles and the room layout from an ingame screenshot, then some editing to make the optional systems transparent and remove the crew. Bonus annoyance points for oxygenless ships. Not sure if there's a faster way to do it.
Managed to get all 4 variants of the "Jelly Button" after the first jump on Normal by restarting many times:
Now that I think of it, I don't remember ever seeing the Slug Scout/Interceptor with all of its doors. Likewise, never seen the Slug Scout pictured on the Enemy Ships page (): Pirate markings with a regular Slug layout ..? Maybe they were different in previous versions of the game. I've started playing on the current one so I don't know much about that.
