This random event occurs in:



You have encountered a refugee ship drifting in space. It looks as if it was fleeing the Rebel advance and ran out of fuel. Its distress beacon is active, but you're not sure anyone is on board.

  1. Hail them.
    • 4x : The vessel is relieved to hear from you! They are running low on supplies. They suggest a trade.
      1. Trade with them.  [ the actual trade offer is shown ]
        • You lose Drone parts lost:1-2 and receive Fuel gain 5-10.
        • You lose Fuel lost:1-2 and receive Missiles gain4-5.
        • You lose Missiles lost:2-3 and receive Drone parts gain 2-3.
        • You lose Missiles lost:2-4 and receive Fuel gain 4-10.
      2. Politely decline.
        • Nothing happens.
    • As you hail the freighter, it advances, weapons bristling from its hull! It's a pirate ambush!
    • As you hail the refugee ship, a Zoltan ship suddenly jumps into the system... it claims the refugees are criminals, and accuses you of escorting fugitives! Before you can respond, it cuts communications, and powers up its weapons!
      • Fight a Zoltan ship.  (enemy ship doesn't surrender nor tries to escape)
        • (After destroying enemy ship) The Zoltan ship breaks apart and you salvage what you can.
          • You receive medium scrap with resources.
            • Contact the refugee ship.
              • The refugee ship thanks you for your assistance. As a gesture of good will (and seeing how effectively you dispatched the enemy ship), they offer up what supplies they can spare.
        • (After killing enemy crew) The Zoltan ship, now empty of lifeforms, provides easy salvage.
          • You receive high scrap with resources.
            • Contact the refugee ship.
              • The refugee ship thanks you for your assistance. As a gesture of good will (and seeing how effectively you dispatched the enemy ship), they offer up what supplies they can spare.
    • As you hail the refugee ship, a pirate ship jumps into the system... it was using the refugee ship as bait!
      • Fight a Pirate ship.  (enemy ship doesn't surrender nor tries to escape)
        • (After destroying enemy ship) The pirate ship breaks apart and you salvage what you can.
          • You receive medium scrap with resources.
            • Contact the refugee ship.
              • The refugee ship thanks you for your assistance. As a gesture of good will (and seeing how effectively you dispatched the enemy ship), they offer up what supplies they can spare.
        • (After killing enemy crew) The pirate ship, now empty of lifeforms, provides easy salvage.
          • You receive high scrap with resources.
            • Contact the refugee ship.
              • The refugee ship claims pirates have been following their trail since they left their homeworld. As a gesture of good will (and seeing how effectively you dispatched the enemy ship), they offer up what supplies they can spare.
    • As you hail the refugee ship, a Slug ship jumps into the system... it was hunting the refugee ship for sport and now they've found you instead!
      • Fight a Slug ship.  (enemy ship doesn't surrender nor tries to escape)
        • (After destroying enemy ship) The Slug ship breaks apart and you salvage what you can.
          • You receive medium scrap with resources.
            • Contact the refugee ship.
              • The refugee ship claims the Slugs have been hounding them since they left their homeworld. As a gesture of good will (and seeing how effectively you dispatched the enemy ship), they offer up what supplies they can spare.
        • (After killing enemy crew) The Slug ship, now empty of lifeforms, provides easy salvage.
          • You receive high scrap with resources.
            • Contact the refugee ship.
              • The refugee ship claims the Slugs have been hounding them since they left their homeworld. As a gesture of good will (and seeing how effectively you dispatched the enemy ship), they offer up what supplies they can spare.
  2. Ignore the refugees.
    • Nothing happens.
