This random event occurs in:

- Slug Home Nebula
in a nebula. The Long-Ranged Scanners will detect ship presence. This event can occur only once per sector.
The slugs here use a tactic you hoped you'd never see: They sabotage your oxygen production system and then charge fire-weapons - you're going to suffocate!

Fight a Slug ship[]
Note: The enemy ship will have at least one Fire Beam or Fire Bomb.
- (After destroying enemy ship) The Slug ship breaks apart and your systems return to normal. You collect what you can.
(After killing enemy crew) With their crew dead, their hacking system shuts down and your systems return to normal. You strip the ship.- You receive medium scrap with resources.

This event is called "NEBULA_SLUG_OXYGEN" in the datafiles.
- The enemy ship doesn't surrender, nor tries to escape.
- This is the only event which contains a blue option for (upgraded) Oxygen system.
- Upgraded Oxygen system can be similarly used in the Dangerous-looking ship event.
