The crystal shard deals 1 damage and penetrates 1 layer of shield. You have to destroy the ship with the Crystal Vengeance augmentation to get the achievement. However, it will also be unlocked if the ship surrenders after being hit by the crystal vengeance and the surrender is accepted. The destruction of an enemy drone from Crystal Vengeance will also unlock the achievement.

"Destroy an enemy ship with a shard from the Crystal Vengeance augment."
